Hi All,
Just a quick update for September 2024. A little bit of a calmer month, but very busy - especially with the new Lumo trains contract starting on the 16th Sept - providing daily stottie sandwiches on the trains from Edinburgh to London Monday - Friday. We have also been able to employ 2 more local people on the strength of this - so great for business and the local community too. We now employ 17 people - 1/4 which we offer supported employment to (people who are neuro diverse/ have mental health challenges).

As mentioned in the last update - it was with a heavy heart we stopped our free meal/ drink cards in the shop - but during September we met with Feeding Families charity - that we will start supporting with donations of baked goods from October. This charity provides food to families/individuals that are referred through 3rd party organisations - meaning that the support is targeted (where possible) to those in need.

We will also be supporting https://ldne.org.uk/ by supplying free weekly food for a 25 week project - a family hub night for families with children with additional needs, their siblings (who become young carers) and their parents.
We also give weekly food to pop up food pantries, homeless hostels and schools.
Any donations we receive on line or in the shop will help towards these donations as well as supporting our own ongoing projects.
With your help - this month we provided:
200 breakfasts to local school children
100 free lunches (Weds)
2 x Kindness Cookies
